During certain manufacturing processes, industrial wastewater can become contaminated with dissolved heavy metals that must be removed in accordance with environmental regulations. TIGG provides a variety of trace metal removal media for liquid phase applications. This media can remove trace metals existing as elemental, cationic, or anionic forms in industrial wastewater.
Metals that may have industrial wastewater discharge limits include lead, mercury, nickel, copper, cadmium, and chromium. Metal removal media mesh size offerings are usually the single available form and are typically smaller sized to improve kinetics. Typical operating ranges are 1-4 gpm/ft2. As these trace metal removal media materials are applicable to a certain range of metals, the true nature of the loading should be discussed with a technical sales representative.
All trace metal removal media are capable of producing removal efficiencies of greater than 90% for adsorbates, which are cost-effectively adsorbed from industrial wastewater.

TIGG OMC and OMC-P are granular surface modified substrate typically used for oil (including petroleum) removal from water. The substrate is modified with quaternary ammonium compounds which attract and hold hydrocarbons. OMC’s active ingredient will permit the user to remove free or mechanically emulsified hydrocarbons from water. Chemical emulsions must usually undergo pre-treatment prior to using OMC oil absorbing products. Applications with other liquids are possible and typically require testing.
